What is a developmental edit?
A developmental edit helps with feedback on plot holes, character development, dialogue, pacing, and over all consistency of the story.
What to expect from me?
Questions. Lots of Questions.
That aside, I will also be looking for consistency issues and ways to make your characters and story have more depth. You may also get my real time reactions and theories along the way, but that’s because I love to try and figure things out or predict the future. While editing, I will also be keeping an eye out for any other trigger warnings that may need to be added to your list.
Pending the length of the manuscript, edits should take no longer than two weeks. In the event of life happening, I will be in contact.
Of course, confidentiality. I will not disclose who or what project I am working on with anyone.
What genre’s am I willing to edit?
Most romance genre’s (except Christian Romance). This includes Dark Romance, Mystery, Fantasy (high and low), some horror, all of which can have any level of spice. I don’t care if we get all the words or if it’s closed door.
I will require a preliminary trigger warning list from you regardless of genre, at the time of submission.
What I expect from you?
A healthy, scrubbed, spell checked document.
